Overview
Radiant International School (CBSE) is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, following NCERT syllabus. Our Founder and Managing Trustee, Shri. A. Albert is a visionary and educationist par excellence. His long-chensted dream was to set up an International School, which would provide a world-class education at an affordable cost to the poor, down-trodden, marginalized and the ones aspiring for a world-class education in Thanjavur.
Thus Radiant International School (CBSE), a co-education school, took its shape and since inception in 2006, the school has been growing by leaps and bounds and making magnificent strides in academics and co-curricular activities.
Today Radiant International School (RIS) has been functioning with the collaboration of a galaxy of eminent educationists, aiming at making positive contributions for the development of a sound and impeccable system of education, aptly suited in the spectrum of 21st Century vision for 21st Century Learners.
NCERT syllabus & CBSE pattern of assessment & Evaluation
Keeping on par with the CBSE pattern of assessment and evaluation, the school from Class I, endeavours to prepare its children to take CBSE examinations confidently and competently. The school aims at gradual introduction of vocational courses and training to equip students with new and requisite skill-sets. As far as the primary wing is concerned, the children are trained in fine arts like primarily focusing on Listening and English Speaking Skills. In addition to this, in the primary and middle wing, students are trained in minor trades and in the high school, major trades. The school creates real-life platform to showcase their talents and skills, by providing facilities for the holistic development of the child. The school has professionally qualified and well-trained and experienced teaching fraternity for various vocations and trades.
Foundational stage(Pre primary-Grade 2)
The Foundational Stage for the children of ages between 3 to 8 years focuses on the need to nurture the unique capabilities of each child and promotes a multidisciplinary approach to education. It bridges the divide between the home environment of the child and the formal school environment. The curriculum1 is closely linked to the development domains of the child- Physical Development, Socio-emotional-ethical Development, Cognitive Development, Language and Literacy Development, and Aesthetic and Cultural Development.

Preparatory stage(Grade 3-5)
The Preparatory Stage under the National Education Policy will cover school education from class 3-5 with a focus on experimental learning. It will cover the age group of 8-11 years. The focus would shift to play, discovery and activity-based and interaction classroom learning.

Middle stage(Grade 6-8)
The Middle Stage comprises of three years of education. It builds on the pedagogical and curricular style of the Preparatory Stage. The introduction and discussion of abstract concepts is done in this stage. It helps in preparing students across various streams. Experiential learning is explored in relations with different subjects.

Secondary stage(Grade 9 - 12)
The Secondary Stage comprises four years of multidisciplinary study, building on the subject-oriented pedagogical and curricular style of the Middle Stage, but with greater depth, greater critical thinking, greater attention to life aspirations,andgreater flexibilityand student choice of subjects. This stage consists of children of age 14-18 years from Grades 9-12. The Secondary Stage is academically driven. There is a constant effort to uphold, inculcate, and nurture values and principles that foster holistic development in our students.
Special Coaching for Board Exam & Competitive Exam
In addition to the regular teaching and coaching for the Board exam, RIS has tied up with special competitive centres to give special coaching for higher class students to crack JEE, NEET, and other competitive exams after the school hours.
